The Center for Semiconductor Manufacturing encourages students at all levels to explore courses that can lead to fulfilling careers in the semiconductor sector.
We offer educational opportunities for current students and working adults.
GRADUATE PROGRAMS
NEW Fall 2026 Powering the future of AI: Semiconductor Science and Technology. U of A is pleased to announce a new Accelerated Master’s Program (AMP) and a new Master of Science in Physics emphasis. Special Incentives for the Inaugural Fall 2026 Cohort:

The AMP enables students to earn a BS and MS in an accelerated timeline while gaining early exposure to semiconductor science and device engineering. Students combine graduate-level coursework with hands-on fabrication and testing experience, building strong preparation for advanced study and industry careers.
This program integrates fundamental semiconductor science with hands-on training in device fabrication, processing, and testing. Students develop practical skills in thin-film deposition, lithography, and device characterization through FASTLab, preparing them for careers in semiconductor and quantum technology industries.
GRADUATE CERTIFICATES
Stackable certificates offer a streamlined educational experience for established professionals and a distinguishing credential for degree-seeking students.
Certificate content focuses on the kinetic and thermodynamic concepts central to the development and application of new and existing materials and processes that enable such high-tech industries as microelectronics, aerospace, advanced and additive manufacturing, high temperature materials and composites, and space science.
Courses address critical materials concepts, packaging principles, and fabrication methodologies central to development of interconnection and environmental isolation systems for microelectronic devices.
Offers exposure to advanced characterization methods and equipment.
Courses address critical materials concepts and fabrication methodologies central to multi-material patterning and assembly leading to microelectronic device fabrication.
Offers hands-on experience within the university's recently updated and equipped NanoFab and Processing Facility (NF&P).
UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS
Provides students with critical interdisciplinary skills required to pursue a successful career in the broad area of semiconductor manufacturing and technology. The curriculum draws from a comprehensive collection of elective course offerings, providing the student a strong foundation in semiconductor processing, device design and fabrication, advanced packaging, and semiconductor supply chain management.
This program is aimed at helping students quickly gain the in-demand skills that employers require. Students receive skills training, project-based experience, industry credentials, and interaction with employers and professionals through Fast Track.
This is a co-curricular, non-credit bearing program.
Future Advanced Semiconductor Technology Lab (FASTLab)
- Hands-on learning environment for undergraduate students across levels and degree programs to learn basic fabrication techniques for prototyping logic, memory and communications devices. Learn more about FASTLab

Fall 2025 Career and Technical Education - Semiconductor Manufacturing Program (CTE-SM)
