Frederic Zenhausern

Director, Center for Applied NanoBioscience & Medicine

Dr. Zenhausern is Endowed Chair Professor at the Department of Basic Medical Sciences, and Director of the Center for Applied NanoBioscience and Medicine (ANBM) at The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. He is also professor in Biomedical Engineering, Radiation Oncology, Clinical Translational Sciences, Translational Neurosciences and BIO5 Institute. 

Prior to joining The University of Arizona, Dr. Zenhausern was Director of the Center for Applied NanoBioscience at the Arizona State University’s (ASU) Biodesign Institute. While at Arizona State University, he was R&D Director and director of the international partnerships at the Flexible Display Center and Chief Technical Officer at ASU MacroTechnology Works. Dr. Zenhausern was also tenured professor with both the Electrical Engineering Department and the School of Materials and Chemical Engineering at the ASU Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering.

Dr. Zenhausern has been a multiple startups entrepreneur after spending over a decade in industry at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center and Motorola Labs. He has authored more than 90 peer-reviewed publications and more than 30 issued U.S. Patents. He is Fellow of the U.S. National Academy of Inventors (NAI) and a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).
