Nasser Peyghambarian
Nasser Peyghambarian, Phd, is an emeritus professor of Optical Sciences and Material Science and Engineering at the University of Arizona. He is currently the Technical Director of the Center for Semiconductor Manufacturing.
He has made significant contributions in the areas of photonics and optoelectronics. He graduated more than 70 Phds, 60 MS and 100 postdocs and research scientists in Photonics. He has over 700 scientific publications and 740 invited talks with an H-index of 74-88 depending on the source. He has authored a textbook on “Introduction to Semiconductor Optics”.
He founded three companies with two of them acquired by Apple and Amazon. He spent more than 3.5 years at Amazon as Director of Optical Engineering, working on product development. He has 45 patents granted. He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors, a Fellow of the Optical Society of America, the American Physical Society, and the Society of the Advancement of Science.
